Goals 2020

As the first week of 2020 comes to a close in a few days I was thinking back on last year and what I did and did not do.
What I did do was set a few meh goals that I never followed through on. What I did not do was set any goals that I held myself to for any length of time.
This year I would like to do it differently. I am behind in starting as it is already almost 7 days in BUT it is better that I start on day 7 then not starting at all.
I have broken my goals down into 3 categories. Art, Dolls, and Personal.
Each section has a few goals each that I will strive to achieve.
Each has separate timelines which is part of why I split them apart that way.

ART
Some of these goals cross over and work with each other to become a reality. I feel this section is really ambitious and feel I will struggle greatly.- Improve my Anatomy, Composition, Design and Colour skills
I will in January complete 4 drawings focused on each item, might do them as Draw this again taking older art from my gallery and redrawing them again. - Sketch Daily focusing on a topic for the day.
I do not have a topic list to pull from these topics will be thing such as one day I will draw hands, another feet, another day eyes, ect. Each sketch page will be timed for 30 to 60 mins long. I will be posting photos of these at least once a week somewhere. - 50 Complete works.
Completed works, These will be anything from traditional work to digital work to animations. I need to improve on all fronts so they will vary. I hope no one minds.
The reason there are 50 and not 52 is because there are only 51 weeks left this year and in march I will be dead to the world for a few days and will probably not want to do shit. - Start taking commissions again.
Probably 1 to 3 a month, Some of these will count toward my 50 Completed works, not all but a few will.
I will be figuring this all out when I get to it. - Start Oil Painting again.
I miss playing with paint. I will start that up again this summer if everything goes well. My supplies are currently in storage, and due to work I am still really busy and will be until my leave at the end of March. I dont think I have ever mentioned on this site that I love working in oils and honestly havent worked with them in a decade. 2020 is a great new start i think.
DOLLS
The doll list is much shorter as they take longer to do then things with the Art list. I probably can do more, but I want to keep it on the conservative side so I am more likely to get things done.- Complete 1 custom fashion doll a month.
I have about 6 dolls in some state of completion. Some are simple repaints with new clothes planned, others are complete modifications.
Some of the dolls as I finish them will go up for sale, I will post information on that later when I get to finishing them. I choose 1 a month so I have time between all the other stuff I want to complete. - Get my resin dusted off and taken care of.
My BJD collection is sadly neglected and has been for years, right now 4 of 6 that I have out are bald because my new kitten decided to eat their wigs... So that is one thing I have to fix, some need repainting, one doll is lazy eyed because the eye putty is lose... So yeah not really a time line sort of thing but something to focus on trying to get done by the end of the year.
PERSONAL
These are for general note and to help keep track of where I am. My spouse and I know all the details and are working on making it all happen.- Pay off a few credit cards
- Save a set amount of $
- Start and hopefully buy a house
- Spend too much at Ikea for pending family expansion.
- Buy one of 3 things at this years christmas market that are all quite pricy.
- Restart my monthly healthy challenge but I think I will do bimonthly. Starting in Feb.
In 2017 I chose to give up something every month for a consecutive 12 month time. Jan was burgers, Feb was McDonalds, Mar was the worst with Soda, Apr I did Pizza. I chose not to continue again past that but I did succeed in each item and honestly I still do not drink nearly as much soda as I did before, the rest went back to how it was before.

Starting August 1 I will be uploading a sketch of some sort at least 4 times a week. My goal is every day. Currently I have 2 options: The notebook & The Sketchbook
The Notebook - $1 a month - will have access to all the sketches and drawings and almost everything I post.
The Sketchbook - $5 a month - will have access to everything and I will have a monthly/weekly suggestion and request post and access to my discord channel.
At some point more things will be added as I get used to having it.
Schedule
I work alot, seriously alot. I want to squeeze more art into my schedule. With luck I will be getting more time soon, see next section. With the coming of that time, I will be trying to add in either a weekly or a biweekly streaming day. Right now my PC is not even plugged in due to moving, I think I mentioned it in my previous journal, if not short version inlaws are dicks and forced us to move rather suddenly. This is being typed on my husband's PC. Once my PC is back up and fully operational I will get my stuff going and squeezing in a few hours of streaming. This all should start in the second or third week of august, definately by September 1. Work should be settled by then.
Work
Congrats to my store manager, GM, getting back into school. I hope she does well. She had to drop out of highschool to care for her mother who was a heavy drug addict. She is about to take classes to bring her up to the standard for getting her GED (high school equivalent test). Then she will start college her goal is to join the police force. I do wish her well. This will be changing our schedule at work. Right now I do 1 16 hour shift on either Monday or Tuesday. Then an opening shift on Wednesday and then I close Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Then I open Sunday.
Today I spoke with my district manager, DM. I let her know exactly how much I HATE closing. In the conversation I mentioned that I literally did not see my husband awake from about 8pm Monday until about 11pm Wednesday due to work. My husband actually called me at work when he got up in the morning on Wednesday and asked me "Did you come home last night?" I did, I just got home after he went to sleep and was up and at work for more then an hour before he woke up. DM was understanding and she is going to figure out a schedule where I have my hours but less closing shifts and more time home with the hubby. This is a conversation we will be having in the next few days with my GM and figuring out how we are going to do this in the next few weeks. Our shift runner, SR, is still in training and causing inventory issues with his prep that started this conversation tonight. Here is hoping.

So most people who follow me already may or may not have noticed I have been absent from posting in about a year. I have not been 100% gone, I just have been working alot and have not really had time to do anything more then doodle. I dislike posting a ton of incomplete work and feel that time off from posting is better then posting what i feel has been shitty work. I have been working on some project outlines and will be starting them when I have a little more free time.

Rant - Feel free to not read rant about my last year's work history cats and inlaw BS
I work full time, plus over time. The last few weeks at work I have been averaging about 64 hours per week the highest being clocking out this last sunday at 68 hours. While it sucks on a hobby level I do really love my job, just wish I had closer to 55 than 65 hours. It is amazing what 10 hours does to exhaustion levels. I work for a franchise of Domino's Pizza and am an assistant manager in my location. Most managers to most Domino's locations do not work as much as we do, some of our other stores in the franchise are fully staffed and have no problems with hours. Mine however seems to be cursed. Our district manager just put out another attempt to hire people so fingers crossed we finally can hire another manager. If we get 1 manager my hours will drop easily to 55 and everything will be glorious. This has been a running struggle for the last year and a half. Seriously my BFF has called the store cursed. We hired Guy A, he worked well for a month, then started being late for his shifts and then after 3 no call no shows we fired him. He got rehired at a different location. Then we hired Guy B he was awesome, he quit in October for a competitor's pizza place. We went for 3 months without a third manager then my store manager quit on Christmas Eve because she had a baby, Congrats girly, her daughter is adorable. I ran the store with temporary people from other stores helping out until Mid Jan Guy C came in, then my district manager decided to bring in Guy A again. He worked out for 3 weeks before he decided to skip his shift by telling the DM that he did not know he was opening the monday shift. I sent a screenshot of the text message conversation not even 12 hours earlier
Guy A - When is my next shift? Me - You open Girl A closes. Guy A- Thanks see you tuesday Me - Yep.
So yeah fired again. Some time in Feb we get Girl B she is wonderful, she was trained at a different store in the basics and the store managers get swapped, I get the one I currently have, and she is training me to be a store manager (GM) right now. GM and I retrain Girl B and we become super close and a perfect working machine, Somewhere during that time I actually had only 40hrs in one week. it was like the twilight zone. Then Girl B gets into a confrontation with our franchise owner over something silly and she quits. Then Guy B comes back from our competitor for about a month which was a great help, he took 1 opening shift a week giving both me and GM a few extra hours off a week. It was nice, but short lived, now GM brought in a few old drivers so that they can lift the hours off some of our drivers, because we are short drivers to the point half want to quit just for a break. We also currently have 3 CSRs that are all under 18, not a big deal, but I am hoping at least 1 will stick around and be willing to take up at least a part time shift lead position. Fingers crossed.
Outside of work
I brought my cat DOG from my dad's place and managed to finally with blood sweat and tears.... well the blood and tears part definately but we have great AC in my apartment so anyway I digress. DOG has FIV, basically he has a compromised immune system, but his blood work has been coming back clean so he is very healthy for a 14 year old cat. He however is deaf. My other cat Raili is only 4 and outside her mom when she was a small kitten has never lived with another cat so she was anti cat when I brought him over. They still dont like each other its been about 2 months.
My inlaws also decided out of the blue to kick my spouse and I out of our condo and so we are currently moving into another apartment nearby. It was a sudden thing and would have been nice if they had given us a little more time to come up with the time off work or something to do so. Currently I am working longer shifts on some days and shorter shifts on other days so I can move things over, my spouse is doing the same. I could go into depth on this but at this point fuck the inlaws, my spouse says fuck them too, and is being more unreasonable about the whole BS than I am. I am trying to keep peace but as they think everything I do is a lie and think I should quit my job because I work to much even though I have a higher paying job and more stable job then my spouce, wait wut? so yeah fuck em.
